Tampa Job & Internship Fair - March 7 at Southwest Florida College

Southwest Florida College is calling all area employers from the greater Tampa marketplace to participate in a spring Job and Internship Fair on Wednesday, March 7th from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Southwest Florida College campus, 3910 Riga Blvd. in Tampa.

“Regional employers interested in motivated, well trained and ready to work students from Southwest Florida College can benefit from networking and interviewing students and graduates from Southwest Florida College,” said Stephen Tirey, Director of Industry Relations and Graduate Placement (IRGP) for Southwest Florida College.

Southwest Florida College graduates and students will meet regional employers between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. US Military Veterans and members of the general public are invited to attend and network with employers from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

There is no cost for employers to participate but space is limited at the on-campus location. Network and interview with students and graduates from the following disciplines:

Southwest Florida College to Host Regional Job Fair.

Southwest Florida College, in partnership with Southwest Florida Works, will host their first Regional Job Fair at the Holiday Inn Airport Town Center in Fort Myers on Friday, November 18th.

According to Dr. Stephen Calabro, President of the college, “We want employers to know that Southwest Florida College Graduates have been and continue to be an essential part of the regional workforce. Our graduates are ‘job ready’ and very eager to put their training and experience to work. We are thrilled to provide employers with this exclusive opportunity to meet each of our graduates up close and personal.”

“As part of our commitment to the community,” said Calabro “we are extending an invitation to job seekers throughout Lee County to attend the event later in the afternoon to meet with employers. Job seekers who wish to explore coming back to college and retraining or sharpening their knowledge can visit with members of our Admissions Team and our Industry Relations and Graduate Placement Staff at the Regional Career Fair event.”

Joe Paterno, Executive Director of the Southwest Florida Workforce Development Board, is pleased to partner with Southwest Florida College and the region’s businesses to help job seekers explore prospective career options and educational opportunities. Mr. Paterno stated “This will be a great opportunity for students who have or will soon graduate, as well as under-employed and unemployed Southwest Florida residents to connect with hiring officials at some of the region’s best places to work.”

The event will be open to the public between the hours of 1 PM and 4 PM and is “complimentary” to both employers and job seekers. The college is providing a special morning session and luncheon for participating employers. Limited Underwriter opportunities are still available.
